Journey Planet #3reducedAnother contact (see Tonight Matthew I’m going to be…) made through my flickr cctv photostream, was with the people who put together the Journey Planet fanzine. Issue 3 which you can download here as a pdf, is a George Orwell 1984 special, and features some of my photos – but there’s plenty of good things too, such as:

L.J. HURST: ‘George Orwell in the World of Science Fiction’ ALAN MOORE, CHRIS BRASTED & SMS: ‘Captain Airstrip One, CHRISTIAN PAYNE & JOHN PERIVOLARIS, ‘Talking George Orwell with Blair at Our Feet’ EMMA J. KING, ‘Mathspeak’ ANDREW F. WOOD, ‘Secure Beneath the Watchful Eyes’ JAMES BACON, ‘Orwellian London’ TONY KEEN, ‘”If There Is Hope…” CHRISTOPHER J. GARCIA, ‘1984: The Year That Defined the Future PÁDRAIG Ó MÉALÓID, ‘Some Notes on the Similarities between ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier’ and ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four” JAMES BACON, ”Nineteen Eighty-Four’ for Sixpence: The Penguin Cover Story’.

Talking of CHRISTIAN PAYNE & JOHN PERIVOLARIS, ‘Talking George Orwell with Blair at Our Feet’ (pay attention it’s one of the articles in the fanzine)  you can listen to the podcast of their discussion made whilst sat round George Orwell’s grave here.

Another video

April 27, 2009

statue11I’ve uploaded ‘Duppies’ the video from my Memento Mori exhibition which was shown at Salford Museum and Art Gallery in 2007/08. The video took on a bit of a life of its own and was shown on the BBC Big Screen in Manchester, RedEye’s Projection ‘08 event at The Lowry and Chester Deva Shorts film festival.

Tonight Matthew I’m going to be…

April 8, 2009

This year is the 60th Anniversary of the publication of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. It’s also the year I’ll finish my CCTV series (see lots of the posts below). Over at Vimeo there’s a short film I’ve done as part of the project.
It might even be getting a screening (courtesy of a flickr friend) at:
