Art hoodies

June 22, 2010

Now I dislike Charles Saatchi for so many reasons, but on this weekend’s jaunt to London I visited Newspeak: British Art Now (well the bits of crap he’s bought up – couldn’t resist the title could I?). One bit that wasn’t crap was Craig Little and Blake Whitehead’s (Littlewhitehead) ‘It Happened in the Corner’ (2007). (Pictured on the left.) I must concede you get a better class of hoodie in Mr Saatchi’s establishment, as a group of young visitors decided to make an imitation of real life, real by staging there own version opposite (pictured on the right).

  1. If you didn’t stage that it was perfect. I thought the fake hoodies were real. Yours are even better!

  2. I don’t really like ‘touchy/interactive’ museums – but in art galleries it’s great.
Pity we didn’t read the small print and notice the White Cubes were shut on Sunday and Mondays (oops).
