Remembrance Day

November 9, 2014

I’ve been doing some background reading about how those killed in wars are memorialised. Hopefully next year I’ll have a new piece of work (probably a booklet) where I’ll come to some conclusions about them. Memorials have been an interest of mine for a long time – see ‘Memento Mori’ – which was shown again at Stockport Art Gallery, which is also the town’s war memorial.
The 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War has seen a renewed interest in Remembrance Day, so I photographed today’s service in Manchester held at the newly re-sited Cenotaph.
